Sunshine Care Foundation USA was founded with a simple yet powerful mission: to uplift underserved individuals and families through education, empowerment, and community engagement. What began as a small grassroots effort in Akron, Ohio, quickly grew into a trusted nonprofit serving diverse communities—including immigrants, refugees, and low-income families—across Northeast Ohio and beyond.

Inspired by the challenges many new Americans face when adjusting to life in the U.S., our founders—community leaders, educators, and social workers—came together to create a space where people could access essential support, develop life skills, and thrive with dignity. Over time, our programs expanded to include youth leadership, Taekwondo training, food drives, women’s skill-building workshops, and cultural integration events.

To support economic independence and self-confidence, Sunshine Care Foundation USA launched women’s empowerment programs focused on practical skills like sewing, computer literacy, and English classes. These workshops help women—especially from immigrant and refugee communities—gain the tools to support their families and lead with confidence.

We also promote youth development through indoor and outdoor sports such as Taekwondo, soccer, and volleyball. These activities encourage physical fitness, teamwork, and leadership, providing a healthy and supportive space for children and teens to grow beyond the classroom.
